By the appointment of the Most Worshipfull Grand Master of Grand Orient of Italy, Bro Gustavo Raffi, our most Worshipfull Grand Master, Bro Petar Kostic was in Rome between 18th and 20th September 2009, at the Autumunal Equinox celebration, the beginning of the Autumn sessions.

The delegation was comprised of the Grand Secretary for international affairs Bro T.H. and Bro N.N.

Our Grand Master and our delegation has been honored by this invitation, since Grand Master of Italy invited only a few guests amongst which Most Worshipfull Executive Secretary of World Conference of Grand Lodges, Thomas W. Jackson, Deputy GM of National Lodge of Romania and Most Worshipfull former GM of Austria, Bro Michael Kraus.

Brethrein from the Grand Orient of Italy, traditionally, every year, organize the celebration of the beginning of Autumn sessions in the atmosphere of critical discussion and questioning the role of Freemasonry in Italy but also in other modern world.

This year two topics were discussed:

  1. Year 1859 – Rebirth of Freemasonry and the beginning of uniting Italy
  2. Sacred and religion

Invited participant in these discussions have been, besides freemasons, also public and eminent people such as journalists, philosophers and historians. The topics were publicly open.

On 19.09.2009, a ceremonious celebration has been organized for more then 1000 guests.

They have given the awards “Giacommo Treves” for zoung scientists that are working on historic and cultural aspects of Freemasonry.

The jazz concert has been performed, in the memory for the Bro Duke Ellington.

It was impressive to watch lost parts, that were found, of the movie “Excelsior” from 1913, directed by Luca Camerio, and devoted to the victory of light over the darkness and destruction. The movie has been edited and found by the grand son, also a Freemason, of the director who has also been a Freemason.
