Between the 4th and 7th June, in Belgrade, one of the Greatest Masonic events, ever to take place in Serbia, Celebration of the 90th Aniversary since the founding of the first Grand Lodge by the name of Grand Lodge of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians – Jugoslavija in year 1919. Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia, as the barer of the continuity and the legal and international successor, was the host of this event and during the celebration, they organized also 40th annual assembly. 27 delegations from all over the world (150 guests), the highest representatives of UGL of England, mother of all Lodges, to the youngest Lodge in Europe, Grand Lodge of Slovakia, as well as 350 guests, representatives of all the Lodges under the protection of RGLS, gave enhancement to the inauguration of Grand Master Brother P.K. and newly elected Grand Officers of RGLS. The Celebration of jubilee has begun by the foundation of the chapter DeMolay order for youngsters, which is also the first independent order of this kind in Europe. This was supported by Brothers from United States of America and Italy. First part of the Assembly was conducted in the working manner. Unanimously the members voted all submitted reports on the affairs of Grand Lodge, Committee and humanitarian societies. Issued were 4 new permits for working Lodges, of which one will be in German language. After the inauguration of the Grand Master and Grand Officers, highest representatives from the visiting Grand Lodges addressed the Assembly and greeted election of the GM, evaluated the work of RGLS as a very important element in terms of building a more human, better society and wished the progress of the RGLS and Serbia, top Brothers Free Masons and all of Serbia’s citizens. All of them brought greetings from their Brothers FM and its countries, where one of the highest representatives of the UGL of England, addressed the assembly and passed his personal and his GM’s greetings, Duke of Kent, to all Brothers and especially to our GM. In his brief sermon, GM thanked to his Brothers and guests and presented briefly the history of the emergence and development of FM in Serbia and its contribution to the general promotion of the society, its devotedness and future, by affirmative estimate that FM still work hard, by trying to create better human beings and a more humane society. High representatives from the entire world while staying in Belgrade, had the benefit of organized site seeing of the city, fantastic classic music concert and the projection of the documentary movie about FM in Serbia. The evening after the annual assembly and celebration, ended with a gala dinner and reception for more then 350 guests. On the last day of their stay, they have brought light in to the new lodge number 26 – Lessing, that will have its ritual sermons in German language, and also St. John, an English speaking lodge, was working.
